These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:16-19

Today we continue our series on the seven things the Lord hates the most.  The second thing listed is a lying tongue.  God hates a lie!  Lying is destructive and almost always leads to secondary sin.  The truth is sometimes harder to tell in the beginning than a lie, but a lie will continue to work its ruin long after the words have been uttered.  It's been said that one lie leads to another...and another...and another.   Tell the truth, girls.  The whole truth.  Have the character to accept responsibility for wrongdoing, and do not be tempted to cover a transgression by a lie.

Scripture Reading for the Day:

Proverbs 7
Acts 16

  1. I hate it when people lie to me. I need to pray and ask God to break my heart whenever a lie escapes from my mouth.

  2. One lie really does lead to many more, and that is why we need to be careful that we don't lie at all!
